Meet at Fort Tuthill and for a quick breakfast and drive south to Camp Verde to launch at the Clear Creek River Access Point. Throughout your trip you’ll take in amazing views of desert canyons and a wide variety of plant life. If all goes well, you have the chance of encountering some of the local wildlife, from mule deer, great blue herons and bald eagles to river otters and beavers! After finding a nice place to stop for lunch you’ll continue to paddle downstream to the Beasley Flats River Access Point where you’ll meet back up with the shuttle vehicles and load up to head back to Flagstaff. While this trip is relaxing and incredibly fun, it does require full participation and some level of athletic ability. Throughout your day, amidst the scenery and wildlife, there is always the possibility of an unplanned exit from your inflatable kayak! In, most cases you’ll be able to just stand up and get back in your boat but the possibility of swimming a short distance is definitely there! After completing your paddle trip, rest in the van and reflect with friends and family about your adventure through the wild desert you’ve just explored!
