Come canoe down the Colorado River below the famous Glen Canyon Dam and experience the terrain of Glen Canyon and Marble Canyon before the Glen Canyon Dam was finished in 1966. A vast landscape of Navajo sandstone, the Glen Canyon Region is a beautiful area with so much to see. We will start our trip by taking a Colorado River Discovery motor boat up to Glen Canyon Dam, there we will launch our canoes and leisurely float down the Colorado and camp on a beautiful beach overlooking towering walls. The next day we will float past the world famous horseshoe bend, where the Colorado river takes a 180 degree turn. We will then stop at Waterholes Canyon for a wonderful hike and float the rest of the way to Lees Ferry, which used to be the only place one could cross the Colorado river. All food and permits and gear are provided. No experience necessary, come and float with us. Limited to 6 participants.
Trip Details: Includes equipment, food, permits and transportation. All trips will depart from and return to the lodge here at Fort Tuthill.
